Also known as the Pink Silk tree or Mimosa tree, this tree is a fairly fast growing tree and it grows well in climates ranging from Caribbean to the climates seen in the southeastern United States which is why after being transplanted in the southeast in the late 1800’s, the tree has truly taken off all across the southeast. The pink blooms seen in these trees are a true sign that summer is just around the corner. This piece has a great egg shape and a little contrast between the lighter colored sapwood and the darker, warm colored heartwood.
