This piece is 1.5” tall and 4.5” in diameter.

These trees are very slow growing and extremely long lived. They can commonly grow 2,000 years or more and there is an olive tree on the island of Crete that is believed to be between 4 and 5,000 years old. Much of the olive I get to work with come from branches that have been pruned from very old trees. This little bowl came from one such limb. It shows the wonderful contrast between heartwood and sapwood.
