Not actually a pine, this tree is indigenous to a group of islands about 800 miles from Australia. The tree grows well in warm, humid climates and has been transplanted to Hawaii, Southern California, and South Florida. The species is prized by woodturners because of the nice amber colors, the blue spalting and the way the limbs grown in concentric circles around the tree.
