#67 Pink Ivory (SOLD)

$565.00

Berchemia zeyheri

This piece is 4.25” tall and 3.5” in diameter.

Considered the rarest wood in the world, this wood is now a protected species and nearly impossible to get. I have found a source from a man in the U.S. who personally harvested this wood in South Africa back in the 1980’s. He is quite proud of it so the price of these pieces reflects that. This wood was once only legally possessed by the royal family of the Zulu tribe before the Anglo-Zulu war of 1879. The penalty for unlawful possession was death. But now you can own it with no fear of reprisal. LoL. This piece is stunning due to color, the striking dark fractures, shape, and finish.
