This form measures 15.5” tall by 8.75” diameter. Not a typical shape for me, but this piece is fantastic. It has the amazing flame pattern coloration that this species is known for. It is finished inside and out and has a pristine sheen, fit for a museum presentation. Pieces of this wood species that have the vibrant red coloration should not be placed in direct sunlight for long periods of time. My finish has many UV inhibitors in it, but the vibrant reds should be kept out of direct sunlight or they will fade to a pinkish-brown over the years. I have pieces that I made 12 years ago with reds as vibrant as ever, but I have kept them out of direct sunlight.
