Actually a juniper, and not a true cedar, this species is an evergreen and is among my favorite woods to work with. The pleasing aroma while working with it, and the beautiful contrast between the lighter colored sapwood and the darker colored heartwood, not to mention the grain movement, all contribute to the pleasure of working with cedar.
