This piece measures 10.5” by 4” tall.

This piece of white oak has been charred completely black through a Japanese burning process known as Shou sugi ban. Several coats of a matte acrylic finish were applied after the piece cooled. The form is turned once very thin and allowed to dry naturally. As it dries, the piece distorts in a whimsical sort of way, contributing to the bespoke feel of the piece.
