The tallest measures 8” tall and the shortest measures 4.5” tall.

Each of these pieces were turned thin and then heavily charred using the Japanese technique of Shou sugi ban. After charring, these pieces began to split unpredictably giving me the opportunity for further artistic flourish. The stitching that you see is the result of that flourish.
