This piece measures 14” diameter by 4.25” high.

This is a very a-typical piece for me, as it is turned start to finish while the wood is green (full of moisture) and then allowed to dry naturally. This means the piece will often warp, and split at certain points in the wood where there is a lot of stress. This piece was painted black, encouraging a sort of cracking and bubbling in the paint to achieve a very old look. It is also distressed by sanding through the top of each ridge as well as being sticked together with a sinew type string for artistic effect and to also add strength to areas under stress. Lastly, this piece received a clear matte finish on top of the paint.
