This little piece is turned near paper thin and given a matte acrylic finish. It was turned very thin and allowed to dry naturally which allows the wood to warp as stress is released giving a very whimsical feel. The grain, coloring and spalting evident in this piece make it such a beautiful piece. Pieces like this are so fun to turn because they push my skill in turning to the limit due to how fragile the piece becomes when turning a piece at advanced stages of decay this thin.
