This piece is well,.... striking to be sure. It almost looks like a bear took a vertical swipe at this piece. I love working with this species. Its name is a bit of a misnomer given the fact that it is actually a juniper and not a true cedar. But the great contrast between the darker heartwood against the much lighter sapwood commends it to discerning collectors. The shape of this piece is also very different for me, but I like the very open top of this form.
