Considered one of the American exotics, Black Walnut is prized by furniture and cabinet makers as well as woodturners. The delicious tones of walnut are enough to commend it to anyone who appreciates the beauty of wood. This piece presents a nice contrast with an area of the lighter colored sapwood and the darker heartwood. This is also a very different shape for me with a very large opening, and an extremely small foot.
