This bowl is 12.5” diameter by 4.25” tall. The depth of grain and color in this piece of cedar is stunning. The heartwood in cedar varies from a pinkish color to deep purples to the deep maroon that you see in this piece. The contrast between the darker heartwood and the lighter colored sapwood is one of the wonderful characteristics of cedar. The dark rim at the top of this piece is composed entirely of coffee grounds and clear epoxy resin. This piece has a satin sheen inside and out achieved from a food safe, waterproof epoxy resin finish.
