This piece is 5.5” tall and 5.5” in diameter.

The white ash tree in America has been decimated by the emerald ash borer beetle. I found these pieces that had been cut for firewood in Townsend, Tennessee. It was scheduled to be burned before I discovered them and paid the man for these pieces. This piece was advanced in the decay process so you get to see very cool features of that decay in this preserved state. The spalting features in this form is also very striking.
