These are the tallest trees east of the Mississippi River in the U.S. Poplar is a big time cash tree due to how straight the trees grow, their relatively short growing time, and how stable the flat lumber is. This piece shows where a limb was coming into the trunk and it makes for a fantastic effect. The teardrop shape suits this piece very well and the finish is superb.
