This wood species is considered one of the American exotics and is prized among furniture builders and cabinetmakers across the country. This piece was harvested from a tree service company that had removed the tree because it was endangering a house that was more than 150 years old in Northwest, GA. The grain of this piece is absolutely gorgeous with several features that stand out. You may notice as well, a very nice, yet subtle foot on the bottom lifting this piece to your attention. The epoxy finish of this piece is worked to a satin sheen for a soft appearance.
