This piece found inclusion in my Black series for good reason. It measures 15” tall by 10” diameter. It boasts the work of the ambrosia beetle, which creates these wonderful color streaks in the piece that otherwise would not appear. As it bores through the tree, there is a chemical reaction created by the presence of fungal colonies clinging to the legs of the beetle. I have sought to arrest and preserve their biological art through form and finish.
