This piece is 4.75” tall and 5.5” in diameter.

This wood is highly prized by furniture makers in Africa, and rarely used by furniture makers outside of the country. I have found a source for this wood in the U.S. He personally harvested trees and had them put in shipping containers in the 1980’s and brought to his property where he sells exotic lumber from around the world. I love working with this wood, but must be extra careful as the dust from this wood has been known to cause temporary blindness. This piece has a fantastic shape and luxurious color with an interesting accent showing where a small limb was growing into the tree.
