This form measures 16” tall by 10” diameter. It has beautiful coloration that this species is known for. It is often referred to as “flaming” because of the color. I also left in a bark inclusion showing the outside of the tree in a small area. This piece has a nice shape and a perfect, museum quality finish. Pieces of this wood species that have the vibrant red coloration should not be placed in direct sunlight for long periods of time. My finish has many UV inhibitors in it, but the vibrant reds should be kept out of direct sunlight or they will fade to a pinkish-brown over the years. I have pieces that I made 12 years ago with reds as vibrant as ever, but I have kept them out of direct sunlight.
